XM-DAC-21033-1.1106 Transparency International Secretariat The overall goal of Transparency International's Land and Corruption in Africa project is to contribute to improved livelihoods of men and women adversely affected by corrupt practices in land administration and land deals, and thereby to enhanced security of tenure, as well as to equitable and fair access to land, and ultimately to sustainable and inclusive development and growth. Promote a people-centered approach to land governance which guarantees transparency, integrity and accountability, providing fair, equitable, and safe access to land and water for men and women of all generations, counteract and significantly curb corruption in land governance processes by promoting transparency, integrity and accountability through appropriate and simplified legal frameworks on land tenure, and the adoption of clear procedures and accountability mechanisms in land administration on a local and national level. R.3: Intergovernmental institutions, governments, and businesses have strong, equitable, and just procedures in place to prevent and redress corruption in land distribution, land acquisition, and land dispute management, as well as to sanction infractions.
